Ian may well try to tempt you to squeeze though "impossible" spaces, although you will always have the opportunity to
opt out of any challenge - there's always an easier way round any particular "problem". However, beware: Ian's

Also, stand by for a serious Geography lesson as you spend your time working your way down through the limestone strata of the earth's crust. There's lots to see and plenty to understand and Ian will make every effort to impart as much of his wealth of knowledge as possible to you. |

Itinerary
|
At the start of your day, Ian will fit you up with modern caving gear consisting of an overall, helmet, light and battery. This gear will be fitted over some old clothes (not jeans) which you will be advised to bring along, which will give you warmth plus added protection to your body, knees and elbows. You will be asked to provide your own Wellington Boots (preferably) or robust old walking boots (trainers are definitely not permitted). Ian will then introduce you to various safety procedures before you embark on an exciting excursion into the fascinating world beneath your feet. During your trip you will learn what the "world which has never seen the light of day" is really like. You will quickly develop the skills to move about in this strange environment and learn to do things which you previously felt you would never be able to do - all this under Ian's watchful eye. By then end of your journey, you may well have had an opportunity climb or descend with the aid of a rope, and may even be quite wet, but that will depend on the wishes of the whole party. The idea is to make the trip an exhilarating challenge, NOT a miserable experience!! Above all, remember, Ian sees it as 'his' job to ensure that all members of his party return to the surface, thoroughly excited by what they have seen and experienced and desperately wanting to tell their family, friends and work-mates about their wonderful experience. You will want to do it again!! |
